Renoviert im Jahr 2021, misst die MS Santa Cruz II 71,8 Meter in der Länge und 13,4 Meter in der Breite. Sie kann bis zu 90 Passagiere in 50 Kabinen und Suiten beherbergen und bietet so eine intime und komfortable Atmosphäre.
An Bord stehen den Passagieren verschiedene Einrichtungen zur Verfügung, darunter ein Wissenschaftszentrum für Vorträge über Tierwelt, Pflanzenwelt und Geologie der Galápagos, eine Bibliothek, Aussichtsdecks, ein Restaurant – das Beagle Restaurant, das köstliche ecuadorianische und internationale Gerichte aus lokalen Zutaten serviert –, eine Bar-Lounge, zwei Whirlpools, ein Fitnessraum und ein Sonnendeck.
Hurtigruten Expeditions legt großen Wert auf den Umweltschutz. Die MS Santa Cruz II ist mit moderner Technik ausgestattet, um ihren ökologischen Fußabdruck zu verringern, darunter ein zertifiziertes Abwasseraufbereitungssystem und optimierte Motoren zur Reduzierung der CO₂-Emissionen. Darüber hinaus wird an Bord kein Einwegplastik verwendet – im Einklang mit der strengen Schutzpolitik der Galápagos, die von der Reederei verfolgt wird.
